Security Engineer


The Security Engineer plays a key role on the CADE 2 team.  The engineer will be responsible for creating and updating security requirements for application-specific projects based on client security. The engineer will also create, review and revise security documentation through use of NIST 800-53 Rev. 4 and FIPS-199 publications. The engineer will also prepare security portions of artifacts in support of the client Lifecycle and Security Assessment and Authorization activities. Act as a liaison between Cybersecurity and other agency stakeholders and other departments. The engineer must be able to analyze computer systems and applications to detect security gaps of deficiencies/vulnerabilities in the environment and recommend/implement solutions for improvement.

Lastly, the engineer will be responsible for updating System Security Plan documentation.

An IRS moderate-level MBI is required for employment. Those without an MBI will not be considered. 

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. The ability to explain very technical matters to non-technical people in an articulate manner.

The engineer will perform most duties from their home, the HumanTouch, LLC. Headquarters in McLean or the New Carrollton Federal Building in New Carrollton, Maryland. Travel is infrequent.



7-10 years of professional experience with 5 of those years working for the Internal Revenue Service.
